DTM Zandvoort – Podium!

Sheldon van der Linde continued where he left off last season with a well-earned podium spot, finishing in second place at the first of two rounds in Zandvoort on Saturday 24 July 2023.

After a weekend that showed great potential for both Sheldon and for his brother Kelvin, it was a much needed result after a challenging season opener in Oschersleben. Despite the strong pace shown throughout the weekend, continued bad luck for Kelvin in qualifying and with the lack of overtaking opportunities at Zandvoort, meant it was another difficult round in the championship for him.

Both drivers fought hard to come back up the order in Sunday’s race after a red flag in qualifying cost them a quick lap. Kelvin started in P10 and finished in P6, while Sheldon started in P17 and finished in P10.

René had a rollercoaster weekend in Portland for Formula E where he and McLaren showed promising results in the single-lap pace, but still struggled when it came to the race. More work ahead.

Next up, Norisring.

Championship Standings after 4 rounds:

Sheldon: P8 with 33 points.

Kelvin: P11 with 24 points.

René: P19 with 11 points.
